Universal Test Box for Weapon Control and Armorers Without Carry Case |

This is the perfect device for your club to test equipment or for an armorer running weapon control. (Does not include carry case, see 43-PBTUT/S for model with carry case)
This new device is suitable for weapon, body wire(cord), lame, electric jacket control and quick troubleshooting. All FIE specified resistance requirements for electric parts can be measured with this machine such as lames, spools (reels), connecting cables, metal pistes, weapons, wires by connecting the appropriate measuring cable. The machine is designed especially for armourers, fencing clubs and tournament organizers.
WARNING: If the device is not used, please unplug it. The adapter can became warm, it is normal.
How to use your new device:
Please connect the machine to the wall plug first (110-230V)
1, Body wire/cord checking
Epee: Adjust the center switch to Short circuit position. Plug your body wire into the device Epee plug and Short circuit plug on the left hand side of the machine. All LEDs above the Epee plug have to light up and remain lit with the same strenght. If none of the LED lights up there is a break in your body wire. Missing light shows which wire line A, B or C is broken. Inefficient LED light up strenght shows the higher resistance in your wire.
Foil/sabre: Adjust the center switch to Short circuit position. Checking of foil/sabre body wire is the same as the epee one. You have to use the adequate plugs on the right hand side of the device. Plug your body wire into the „Foil,sabre” plug and under the 2 pins plug. Clip your crocodile clip on the pin next to the 2 pins cable plug. All LEDs above the Foil,sabre plug have to light up permanently at the same strenght. If none of the LED lights up there is a break in your body wire. Missing light shows which wire branch A, B or C is broken. Inefficient LED light up strenght shows the higher resistance in your wire.
2, Weapon control
Epee: Connect your weapon to the center plug under the switch. Adjust the center switch to Resistance position. If you press the epee point the meter has to show resistance between 0-2 ohm. You have to make the weight and gauge (shim) test in the same position. When you press the epee weight on the point the meter has to indicate 0-2 ohm resistance and if you let go of the weight the meter pointer has to show ? If the gauge is inserted into the epee point and you press the tip the meter pointer must not move from 8
Your weapon wire is broken if the meter pointer is out of 0-2 ohm range while pressing the point.
After this please turn the center switch to Short circuit position. If your epee has short circuit between AC or BC points either if you press the point or not the appropriate led (AC or BC) will light up on the device’s lower left corner.
Foil: Connect your weapon to the center plug under the switch. Adjust the center switch to Resistance position. The connected foil has to show resistance between 0-2 ohm without pressing the foil point. If the foil point is pressed the meter has to indicate amplitude closing to 8.
As with epee now you can make the weight test. When you press the foil weight on the point the meter has to indicate 8 resistance and if you let go of the weight the meter pointer has to show resistance between 0-2 ohm.
Your weapon wire is broken if the meter pointer is out of 0-2 ohm range without pressing the foil point.
You have short circuit in your foil if the pointer doesn’t weave to 8 while pressing the point.
Sabre: Connect your weapon to the center plug under the switch. Adjust the center switch to Resistance position. The connected sabre has to show resistance between 0-2 ohm.
With all weapon testings’ cases if you shake or tap the weapon the meter pointer must not weave.
3, Any other resistance measuring
Adjust the center switch to Resistance position. Connect the measuring cable to the middle and any side plug under the centre switch. Measure the needed resistance. If you use long measuring cable and it would influence your measuring precision you can set to 0 ohm the meter with the Device adjustment switch.
4, Operation of the Device adjustment switch
Device adjustment switch helps you to adjust the meter to 0 ohm to avoid any possible additional resistance caused by your long measuring cable. |
