Things to consider when purchasing a fencing shoe:

If you have ankle problems you may want to consider purchasing the hi top fencing shoes for extra ankle support.
The fortuna plus is a little wider than the fortuna, the silverstar is more of a beginner fencing shoe.
The fortuna and fortuna plus are both very durable fencing shoes. The plus will last a little longer than the fortuna and the fortuna will last longer than the silverstar.
Both the fortuna and fortuna plus are manufactured in Europe and will last much longer than Asian made shoes, even Asian made fencing shoes which are much more expensive.
Most fencers will not purchase a fencing shoe until they have been fencing for 6 months to a year. Prior to that their footwork is not developed enough to take full advantage of the fencing shoe.
