Things to consider when purchasing a fencing shoe:

• If you have ankle problems you may want to consider purchasing the hi top fencing shoes for extra ankle support.
• The fortuna plus is a little wider than the fortuna, the silverstar is more of a beginner fencing shoe.
• The fortuna and fortuna plus are both very durable fencing shoes. The plus will last a little longer than the fortuna and the fortuna will last longer than the silverstar.
• Both the fortuna and fortuna plus are manufactured in Europe and will last much longer than Asian made shoes, even Asian made fencing shoes which are much more expensive.
• Most fencers will not purchase a fencing shoe until they have been fencing for 6 months to a year. Prior to that their footwork is not developed enough to take full advantage of the fencing shoe.
